For some reason, after being an avid read of Elise's for some time, I was weirdly surprised when a murder occurred, everything got chaotic, things blew up, and Blackwood turned up in another mystery to solve. I think maybe because I'd read Meet Me At Midnight first, but I wasn't expecting anything but a romance book. However, I adjusted to the abrupt change and really loved it. Blackwood Elements is turning into a series favourite of mine.

Really enjoyed this story, I find Elise's books to be some of the best romantic thrillers out there.
