When Tai Beaulieu impulsively hands in her notice by text message one dreary January morning and takes off in search of adventure, the last place she expects to end up is Africa.

But she soon lands in Egypt, home to ancient tombs and spectacular temples. Plus friendly locals, a rather nice English businessman, and an American tourist who doesn't know when to butt out.

Along with roommate Tegan and archaeologist Miles, Tai sets out to explore everything the city of Luxor has to offer. But before she’s even managed to get a suntan, disaster strikes, and she finds herself keeping a terrible secret. And she’s not the only one…

Copper is a standalone romantic suspense novel in the Blackwood Elements series - no cliffhanger!

Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.

Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.

I’m a huge fan of this multi country series. Once you start reading you get drawn into the lives of all the characters. As with any series I have some favourites. Emmy and Black of course but also Bradley. This book starts off in England but travels to Egypt. Meeting Tai you’re not sure what’s gonna happen but as with Me Elise’s stories they draw you in and captivate you until you can’t put the book down. We encounter characters from Stolen Hearts and also meet many new ones along the journey. Ren is an intriguing man and at first you’re not sure what to make of him but he soon shows his colours. The fireworks between him and Tai are hilarious. As the story progresses we see Emmy and some of our other favourite guys. That includes Bradley, he’s just as hilarious as usual. This was an intense and thoroughly compelling book. I can’t wait to see how things progress for the next book Bronze.
Awesome book.

Loved this book

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers although there is a kidnap incident.
There are no errors.
The characterisation is spot on, I fell for both lead characters but they had a truly Rocky start.
The plotline is fast paced and twisty and so funny there were quite a few laugh out loud moments.
There is a sex scene lightly written and some swearing.
You don't need to have read the Blackwood series to enjoy the book, it can be read as a standalone, but to obtain the best reading experience including knowing who the supporting characters are, I would advise reading the series from the beginning.
Would I recommend the book?
Yes, without reservation.

Fabulous... always!

I have read nearly all of Elise's books and they never disappoint. Somehow they always feel fresh. With so many authors you read 2 or 3 books and you have enough as they are all the same, but in this case.
Witty, entertaining, romantic but not cheesy. Simply great.
Please hurry up, I'm running out of books!

I read this on her website when she included input from the fans as to what would happen next. I love it when the girl who thinks she's "plain" or too imperfect ends up getting the hot guy and finding her self confidence.

Ren was totally unlikable; he did everything he could to annoy and upset Tai. He showed ZERO concern for her safety until she got kidnapped.

With Copper, Elise Noble gifts her readers with an irresistible, funny, witty comedy with a sting. A good part of the book is utterly hilarious. The protagonist, the very British Taisiya Hermione Beaulieu, aka Tai, is a smart, clever, and resourceful young woman disguised under an insecure and awkward persona. Her witty lines of thought frame the thread of the story.
Copper is also a book about choices. The story begins when Tai suddenly decides to leave her dull and frustrating job and fly to Egypt. Two men gravitate around her, the geeky Russell and the arrogant Ren. Every few chapters, Tai has to decide what comes next, either following her newly found independence or going back to her old conservative approach. The result is a story full of twists and turns, that amuses and involves the reader, who cannot avoid taking sides at each turning point. Suddenly, around the middle of the book, the plot takes a dramatic spin, turning into a fast-paced action thriller. Quite unexpectedly, Emmy makes her appearance, jumping into the action and getting it sorted her way. A sweet and delicate interlude of Bradley comforting his boyfriend Miles is a most welcome cameo episode. Finally, a masterfully crafted and entirely satisfactorily ending leaves the reader amused and pleased.
Overall, Copper is a combination of many genres, with a rich plot and a full cast of intriguing characters. A slate of secondary but skilfully depicted personas enriches the setting of the story to the point that the reader feels immersed in the noise and the heat of an authentic Egyptian town. As a result, the book fascinates, involves, and intrigues while taking its readers on an exotic vacation, leaving them dreamy and looking forward to the next episode.

Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down

Elise Noble has done it once again! This fabulous book has everything! Great characters, intriguing storyline, romance, adventure, humour and factual references. Obviously well researched. So descriptive, the reader feels like they are there with the characters in the heat of the archeological dig, the swanky air conditioned hotel restaurant or at the apartment watching the pet chicken scratch around at the back.
I especially liked seeing some of my favourite characters (Emmy & Bradley in particular) make an appearance in this book to help save the day when things go wrong in a big way. Bradley is hilarious as always and Emmy is as badass as ever, yet still manages to show a soft side at times.
I am in love with all the Blackwood books that I have read so far and I simply have to read them all.
I won't repeat what the story is about, as that is what the blurb is for. Highly recommended reading - you will not regret it for a moment.

I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I very much enjoyed this book - despite having read it before when it was the interactive story. That is the genius of Elise's writing - even though I knew the plot, the book was very entertaining. I love the witty dialogue, the artful development of each character, and the mix of romance and action. As someone who has read every book Elise has published, I also enjoy that the characters (who also have their own books) are recurring, with the occasional introduction of a new character who will have their own book later on.

For this book in particular, her descriptions of a place I have never visited were intriguing, yet not so long-winded that my eyes glazed over, as is the case with some other authors. I was never tempted to skip a sentence here and there - another testament to Elise's entertaining writings.

I am now holding my breath for the next release (while reading the newest interactive story to tide me over).

Copper is the latest Blackwood Elements book. It has characters in common with all the other Blackwood books and can also be read as a stand-alone. Tai is totally fed up with her family, her job and her boss so she impulsively ditches the lot and takes off to another country. This decision will change her life in so many unexpected ways. Tai is wonderfully hilarious, ditzy and lacking confidence. Ren is the total opposite and he infuriates her from the moment they meet.
This book is an absolute gem and I loved it. Brilliant characters, both old and new, bring this story to life. It is great to finally find out more about Miles, Betsy is great and Emmy and Bradley are on fine form. Elise Noble is a writing genius and once again it is the little unexpected moments that take this book to another level. Adventure, romance, suspense, humour; this book has it all .. and a chicken. Definitely worth more than five stars, I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Copper doesn’t disappoint!

Tai does what we all dream of from time to time: quits her job and catches a plane away from her daily treadmill..

Her adventurous new life starts on the plane making a new friend, but soon after arriving at her destination, she finds herself in the middle of a bit more action than she bargained for..

Elise is a true master of creating characters that come to life on the paper (or screen these days) and their personalities just sucks you right into their world. You feel like you’re there yourself as the plot thickens and the action explodes around Tai.

Even though I read the original newsletter story and was a part of the voting process deciding the outcome, reading the story again as a complete book was a true joy - couldn’t put it down..

Loved it!

Another great Elise Noble book!

In the beginning I wasn't sure where this story would take us, but with it being an Elise Noble story I knew it was going to be good. Once the premise of the story was ironed out the fun really began, complete with a love triangle, hidden identities and missing artifacts. So much suspense in this book! This was an amazing escape into a part of the world not many can authentically write about.

I really enjoyed meeting and experiencing Tia and Ren. Because that is how Ms. Noble writes. You feel as if you are part of the story with how wrapped up in it you become. From previous books in this series I have loved getting to know primary and secondary characters alike. I love that that in this book we get to know Miles a bit better and get to revisit Emmy, Black, Jed, Bradley and Logan.

The story begins with a young English lady, Tai Beaulieu and her on the spot decision as she is driving to the airport for a work related trip with an obnoxious boss she hates. She quits her job and ends up flying to Egypt to live life. From the very beginning readers are entertained by Tai's early life crisis and the hurdles and decisions that confronts her. Throughout the whole story we see great characters who help Tai find her happily ever after, from a airport sales clerk giving her advice on the best places to go and that much needed upgrade so not to have to sit next to some ignorant male, to find she gets seated to an almost kindred soul which will be a major link to her Egyptian adventure. To the perfect taxi driver who helps her find a cheap and friendly place to live but all does not go well. But you need to read the book to get the whole adventure.

Copper by Elise Noble
We follow Tai as she makes an impulsive decision to quit her job by text message as she is on her way to meet up with her boss and another co worker for a week long conference. Tai buys a ticket at the airport, ends up in Egypt to hide out from her mundane existence that has become her life in the UK. Along the way she gets caught up in events that are totally out of her comfort zone, makes new friends, tries her best to let go of her past and finds the love of her life. I read this story when Elise Noble started writing this as an interactive serial in her news letter and we, the readers got to vote on what Tai should do next. A very entertaining read. 5 stars.

Copper has a little bit of everything in the mix adventure/murder/mystery/suspense/romance & a lot of humour throughout the book. It starts of with Tai making a spur of the moment decision to leave her boring unfulfilled life with a crappy demanding boss to jump on a plane for parts on known which leads her on a bit of a bumpy journey. You see her come out of her shell make new friends, have some mishaps with a little mayhem thrown in and eventually to start to believe in herself more & to find love. I loved Elise’s style of writing it kept me engaged & trying to figure out what would happen next. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Elise Noble never disappoints, "COPPER" of Blackwood series is another intriguing story about Tai's adventure, where she found herself in Egypt after a spur of the moment decision that changed her life. The story is thrilling, exhilarating, intriguing, action packed, filled with suspense and romance.
Elise Noble's descriptive prowess takes the reader into the mind of the writers and entwines the readers mind with those of the characters as well. We also got to meet some of our favourite characters from previous books in the series as well. Elise Noble is one author that promises great reads and story no matter what directions she leans onto.

Tai's story was in Elise's newsletters last year where her readers could decide after every chapter how the story continues.

I loved that idea but I have to admit that I only read about 25% of the story though I always told myself I'll catch up on the newsletters when I find the time.

Tai quits her job and decides to go on vacation to Egypt where she ends up in an apartment next to Teagan from Australia but the story gets more interesting when Ren arrives with Tai's suitcase.

Copper
Elise Noble always uses humor to develop her characters and plots. Copper does not disappoint.
Elise uses Taisiya (Tai) Beaulieu as a means to introduce new characters as well as incorporate old friends during her spur of the moment adventure.
I really enjoyed meeting Miles Bradley and learning about his archeological digs which adds intrigue and peril to the challenges Tai encounters.

Tia wanted a change, an adventure. Life will never be the same again for her again. Which is good for us because it makes excellent reading. I had to read again to see if it was as good second time around and it was - even better if that is possible. Elise's books are always brilliant and this one didn't disappoint. I have never been to Egypt but Elise knows the country well, so this book contains a great deal of local colour.

Any book that involves Emmy and Black just has to be full of action. It was great to learn more about Miles, Bradley's boyfriend and I loved the twist to their names only Elise Noble could come up with that. This was a fascinating story that pulled the reader into the action. Another total classic and now I can't wait for the next book.

I read this book initially chapter by chapter through her newsletter, but this release gave me the chance to read it all at once, and it had some polish on it too. Elise's characters are relate-able, if a little feckless sometimes. Her books are super easy to read, thankfully, because you never want to put them down once you start.
