At thirty-two years old, Ana Petrova’s had enough of death. She never wanted to be an assassin anyway. With a young daughter now the centre of her world, Ana’s determined to settle into her new life in Virginia and do whatever it is suburban moms do.

But her friend Emmy has other ideas. A trip to New York proves that even the brightest places can have dark shadows, and Ana’s forced to consider whether there might still be a need for her skills after all.

Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.

Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.

The only thing stopping me from giving if a five-star is it is too short! 😬

I absolutely loved Ana "being" a homemaker...

Priceless as Emmy and Sofia's jaunt to France! I loved Ana trying so hard, to be what she simply would never be...
I also loved while Ana understanding more of her self and motherhood for her and childhood for her daughter came with GLITTER, (truly what parent or retired teacher simply does not HATE IT), horrors, shopping, and best of all chaos and mayhem, with no killing, be definitely learning experience for a true douche bag.
Elise,I so needed the laughs! 7 hrs in the hospital, after getting to emergency with my sister and a complete blockage that was blessedly not another major heart bypass, but fixable through double stints, I was essentially brain dead.
Hence, a little Ama and Emmy was needed, add Mack, Carmen, and Dan, and you essentially had the perfect Blackwood women's day out. All you needed was Sofia's brand of crazy, and I would going to bad still rolling in laughter.

Thank you!
Sister is doing great, 5 min we we able to see her she was bitchy, snotty, and her usually fun self. Which just meant getting him, suck up two Elise Noble novels before bed.
Yep out of order because everyone needs Emmy's fun to make sleep better!
Frankly, everyone needs an Emmy, especially Ana! ( I am putting my request for my own Emmy on my Christmas list.)

Laughed myself silly!

Glitter opens introducing Ana, Emmy stepsister, in the unusual role of stay-at-home mom of a spitfire three years old baby ninja girl. A sweet, insightful Bradley senses her discomfort and comes to the rescue, in his peculiar way.
This opening scene immediately sets the theme of this new episode of the Blackwood saga. The storyline rapidly moves from the sparkling stage of a New York theatre to the backstage, and the dark shadows of bully and blackmail, calling Ana, and Emmy, back to action.
More women from Blackwood soon join the team, all the men left behind, giving life to an intriguing and captivating tale where women defend other women all on their own, and with no different motivation than because they can.
Such an unusual perspective is a stark contrast with the stereotypical portrayal of alpha males defending damsels in distress, and a refreshing celebration of the courage, braveness, and generosity that are often distinctive traits of the female soul.
All the while, the story maintains a humorous and light tone, resulting in a delightful and entertaining book, also enriched by the prose of Ms Noble's masterfully ironical writing style.

I loved Glitter. This fast paced novella covers so many concepts, from working out who we really are, to friendship, helping a stranger just because you can, standing up for what is right and family. Even with these serious themes, Elise brings her usual irreverent brand of humour to every situation and provides plenty of action that has us cheering them all on.

Ana is trying hard to be a "normal" mum and to protect her young daughter, but is bored, dissatisfied and worried. Emmy and Bradley turn up to try and show Ana there is more to life than baking and staying behind closed curtains, and, by chance, Emmy and Ana end up rescuing a young girl from attempted suicide. The other Blackwood ladies are roped in so that they can all dole out their own brand of justice, resulting in the usual Blackwood mayhem. There is plenty of glitter thanks to Bradley, and readers are left, as always, wanting more.

This novella takes place after the events in Ultraviolet, so it helps to have read that, but it's still a fun read even without the back story.

I liked this book as a way to see more of Ana adapting to now living in America and also.. not under a psycho? I can't lie, she sort of reminds of helena from orphan black, but I love it. Also, Tabby standing on the dog to reach things really got me lol. I think Elise really captured a child's behaviour in that move, whereas sometimes authors can fail at that by making the child say/do something unrealistic or not fitting with their age range. Getting to read about the Blackwood girls in action aswell was definitely a bonus, I really like all the females in the series as they all have their own personalities but work so well together and are a definite promo for girl power. I recommend reading the rest of the Blackwood world books in order before reading this, not just because they're great, but because it helps make a bit more sense, even though they can be read as stand-alones. Anything Blackwood related is now a must read for me!

The main character of Glitter is Ana and this novella slots in after Ultraviolet which is Ana’s story (the novella can be read as a stand-alone but to get the full story about Ana you’ll need to read Ultraviolet)

Glitter is a funny Elise Noble story with a bit of action from the Blackwood girls and justice is served to the bad guy as we’ve come to expect it from Emmy and her partners. Bradley brings the fun and glitter to the story in his usual upbeat and optimistic ways - making the reader smile and laugh - but we also see a softer and more caring side of Bradley in his caring for Ana’s daughter Tabby.

So even though the story is not a full novel we still get more insight to both Ana, Tabby and Bradley as well - and as an added bonus, the joy of the bad guy getting his ass kicked by girls.

I loved it and have already read it twice.

This is an "in-between" book - a shorter novella to round out the stories behind each character. I personally enjoy these short-stories - they give the author an opportunity to connect the dots, if you will. As far as the story line for this one, I do enjoy when a despicable character gets what's coming to them. I also liked how Ana continues to develop as a person and embrace new parts of life. Though she is a product of some unfortunate circumstances previously in life, she is trying to be a good mom and partner. And who doesn't enjoy it when the female part of the Black team kicks butt! Looking forward to the 2020 books - and appreciate Elise being such a productive author!

Glitter by Elise Noble
Beginning with Ana’s baking flour episode to the end with Carmen’s story of her husband Nate and son’s fishing trip, Ms. Noble develops the plot with humor. Featuring Bradley’s unique talent and skill to shop and have fun, the story offers hope to Ana’s boredom and fears in her new life allowing Tabby the ability to have a normal childhood. Finding a young woman, Jennifer, in trouble, Emmy’s and Ana’s proficiency in problem solving aids Jennifer. Ana realizes that she is able to offer Tabby the childhood she never had and can continue to be involved in the action she misses.

Could Ana a world class assassin actually be a stay at home mom to take care of her daughter when she can't even boil water without trying to burn down the whole house? "Glitter" is the continuation of "Ultraviolet" the full story of Ana "Lilith" the deadly Assassin whose name strike fear into the hearts of even the most dangerous underworld lords. Could Blackwood gangs her new family be able to help Ana assimilate into the suburban Virginia life and where Ana tries to find herself or would she run back to the previous life she knew?
To find out more while don't you pick up a copy of this novella "Glitters" and journey with Ana into her new Adventure.

Glitter (Blackwood Security #7.5) by Elise Noble.
This is a delightful novella featuring Ana and Emmy. I would suggest you read Ultraviolet (Blackwood Security #7) which is Ana's story first, as this novella is a follow up story told from Ana's point of view on how she is dealing with the changes in her life after the events in Ultraviolet This novella is a stand alone story with no cliff hangers. I really liked the interactions between the various characters. 4 stars.

This short novella fits into the series after Ultraviolet which is Ana's main story. I missed out on reading Ultraviolet, yet I haven't had problems enjoying this story. Ana tries to act like a common mom for her daughter Tabby but fails terribly because she's scared something could happen to her (again). While she's in New York with Emmy they overcome a girl who needs their help and the paintball episode rocks. However Ana realizes that she wants to work and also to have her daughter enjoy her childhood.

Can a world renowned assassin be a stay at home mom??? That's exactly the question Anna needs to ask herself. She is no good at cooking, burns any and everything she tries to cook. And cleanining and shopping is not her thing. In walks Bradley to help out with a trip to New York. But will this help or will the trip turn into another Emmy fiasco??

You so need to read Glitter to find out how it all turns out. But anything with Emmy and her sister Anna and the Blackwood girls can go either really really good or really really bad.

Like sponges

I didn't know the author has such a good sense of humor. Yes, the author's other books has humor, but Glitter, I laughed throughout the whole story. I even found out that Bradley has humor, not just a phosphoric. This by far has been the funniest with a bit sadness as to how Lilith had to raise her daughter & keep them both alive. Their glitter adventure to help her daughter be a kid was too funny! Even Emmy had some good ones. I'm getting ready to read Glitter again.

I have never read a book by Elise Noble that I didn't love, and Glitter is no exception. A great short story with lots of vivid imagery, that makes you feel you are right there witnessing the story first hand. Great to see the return of regular characters Emmy & Bradley and to follow up on Ana's story with her daughter. I won't give a synopsis, as that is what book blurbs are for.

Looking forward to the next book by Elise Noble! 😍

Glitter is simply wonderful. This is a continuation of Ana's story (Ultraviolet: Blackwood Security 7) now she is a retired assassin and stay at home mum to daughter Tabby. Glitter is a great book with some favourite Blackwood characters including Emmy. Also, whenever Bradley has a main role you know it will be hilarious and this book lives up to my every expectation. The theatre visit is a must read as it is truly priceless. I cannot recommend this book, and series, highly enough as both are absolutely brilliant.

Once again Ms Noble delivers an intriguing and fun story from the Blackwood family. Ana and Emmy are a real trip. Their unique and quirky personalities shine through in this novella. Once you start a Blackwood book you cannot stop. It draws you in and captivates your attention quickly. This was exactly the same. I love seeing these two work together because it’s never predictable. Great instalment.

I’m deeper in love with Ana than I was before I picked this up.

As always I’m floored by Elise’s creativity, talent and genius. I was literally inside the story with the characters the whole time. She takes an idea and brings it to life in the pages of her book. That’s just raw talent. I’m thankful for the insight into Ana, she has always been a little mystery. I love her even more now than I did before. Another one for my Quarterly re-read pile. Wow! Thank you Elise for this!

Fantastic!

I really enjoyed this shorter in-between story about Ana and Emmy. I can never get enough of Emmy, but also really liked getting to learn more about Ana. I feel that we (and she) are still learning just who she is. There is the perfect mix of humor in with the action to keep the reader captivated.

Get another amazing read. Love reading about Emmy and ana. Bradley makes it perfect. I can't think of any reason not to read all of elise`s books. Can't wait for the next one.

Elise Noble does it again - deprives me of sleep! I loved Glitter, the continuing story of Ana trying to fit her self into a life she is totally unsuited for. Finding her place in her new world makes for an enjoyable read and a few chuckles. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book

Short but worthwhile

Thoroughly enjoyed this short learning adventure of Ana's particularly because it involved the other kick-ass ladies of Blackwood Security. I look forward to more adventures for these ladies together. Thanks Elise 😊.

Great book

This was a great and entertaining book to read. It's just a short one but tells us a lot about Ana's past and future. I think it could have been filled with more action with lots of shooting. Lol

Gave it a five-star rating even though it was tragically too short. It was a fan taste for the holiday period and I loved that the Blackwood girls got to cause mayhem once again. Love Tabby and saw a very different side to Ana as a full-time Mum. Brilliant read

There is actual glitter in this story and it makes Bradley so very happy. While he and Tabby enjoy he show Emmy and Ana find a girl in trouble and the book takes off from there.
You will love the action and the payback was way cool. Oh, and Ana finds her place so there’s that too.

This novella explains how Ana goes from retirement back to action.
As always, it’s fast paced and the core theme is Emmy and others helping someone who needs it.
A cute little side story, with the only complaint being that the book is never long enough!

This one has me chuckling a little! Starts off with a mild manner housewife and then she and Emmy are chasing down a lowlife blackmailed. It was an awesome and entertaining read!

This is a very interesting book...it's a bit different from the rest of the books but it is no less action packed than the others...it's rather cool to read this book where the two most dynamic sisters work together to solve a case...

another well written story where justice is done

Enjoyable story (not keen on some of the gratuities violence) loved the bits about the child and the dog. you just have to skip the bits you don’t like.

informative and revealing

Glitter gave a great background to Jennifer and kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Although Glitter had less gut-wrenching moments, it revealed key character traits.
