Georgia Rutherford-Beaumont has it all: A wealthy husband. A powerful father. A hit man trying to kill her…
Senator’s daughter Georgia longs for a little excitement in her life, at least until it arrives in the form of a high-velocity bullet. With Blackwood Security on the case, Georgia hides out with reclusive artist Mitchell Gray as the team try to unravel the web of secrets, lies, and worse, actual spiders. Who wants her dead? One of her father’s many enemies? Somebody closer to home? Or is it the Horsemen, the elite band of assassins Georgia’s not supposed to know about?
Georgia’s time away from home leads her to question everything, including herself. Where does the real danger lie? In death? Or in a life not truly lived?
Gray is my Heart is the fifth book in the Blackwood Security series and features characters from the previous books, but can also be read as a standalone. No cliffhanger!
Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.
Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.
The last few days have been a Blackwood Security marathon, with today set aside for Gray is my Heart. It is another spellbinder from Elise Noble, one I couldn't put down. Georgia Rutherford-Beaumont, the perfect Stepford Wife, is suffering through a baby shower at the country club when an assassin's bullet narrowly misses her head. She goes into protective custody, but after people die protecting her, Senator Rutherford, her father, hires Blackwood Security. And before she knows it, Georgia is ensconced in a cabin in the Colorado forest, far from Washington DC, her husband, dinner parties, and the campaign trail. Her only company is a grumpy, reclusive artist who owns the cabin, with a kitchen she can lose herself in.
I love this series and the glimpses we get of Emmy, Black, and their team. I can't wait to get into book six.
Excellent! Another night for me with very little sleep. I just cannot put a Blackwood book down once I’ve started. This is again an absolutely awesome book. Although very little of the action is described in detail, I only realized that after finishing the book. I had not missed it at all while being spellbound by the story. The book started with a bang and kept up the fast pace throughout. The bad guy in the end became a bit too bad too quickly for me but I guess one never really knows another person and some are great at hiding what they don’t want the world to see. The story is so well written, the characters and places so well described, that I feel as if I’ve lived the adventure myself. Especially since I now feel like some of the known Blackwood characters have become like family. I will definitely read this book again while waiting somewhat impatiently for the next Blackwood book
Another bullseye in the Blackwood series, this does not disappoint! Reluctant socialite daughter of a senator and wife of a douche bag (Douglas) climbing the political ladder, Georgia becomes the target of an assassin. Enter Blackwood Security, more killings and Georgia is secreted away to stay with a grumpy reclusive artist (Gray) who is not all he seems. Lots of action, excitement, sexual tension kept me turning pages all through the night. The characters really come to life on the page in that inimitable way Elise Noble has with words. If you ever read just one series of books, I highly recommend the Blackwood series or in fact any book by this author.
This latest Blackwood Security book is a true delight. It focuses more on the grittier side of life than in the previous book, more like the earlier books in this series. With returning characters and new faces this book has it all ... action, tension, romance and even a cute puppy. I thoroughly recommend this book and all the Blackwood Security books. Enjoy.
As a free book offered after reading Ultraviolet (Another fantastic book too) it was great to get a further insight into characters that were part of the Blackwood team mission in Ultraviolet title. Where Ultraviolet could be identified as a horizontal line -, Gray is my heart is then recognised as a vertical line and by reading both you get a plus symbol +. Which best describes it as a overall fuller insight to the Blackwood team members.
I wasn't sure how this book would for into the Blackwood Security series but it does and in a way that makes pieces from earlier books in the series fit into the puzzle. This was obviously well thought out and developed so that we got to this point. I can't wait to dig into the next book in this superior series!
The Blackwood Security Saga, didn't disappoint. Georgia wasn't one of my favorite characters because she didn't add anything to the series. Just a spoiled rich lady with zero ambition.
Ooh I loved this book. Love seeing more of Emmy in this one too. Great to see characters mentioned previously and getting to know them better. This had a bit of everything, suspense, drama and intrigue. Not too mention love and betrayal. Can’t wait for the next book
I liked the book, it wasn't as good as the others , but kept me turning the page. There were times I wanted to smack Georgia and shake some smarts into her. But in the end, she matured and made smarter choices.
I really enjoyed this book. I like the way the story unwinds with plenty of mystery and humour. assassins and victims galore. sad in parts but with happy ending. shame the female lead had such a stupid family
I love the way these books flow - like real life, sometimes, silly, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes edgy and rude. But always entertaining and always with a silver lining. Thank you Ms Noble...
These books are hard to put down. The energy and stories are compelling and well thought out. The characters are crafted with care and come alive. Looking forward to more. Yes, this can easily be read as a stand alone novel.
Not my cup of tea. I didn't connect to the characters and the story didn't flow that well for me. I don't mind romantic suspense every now and then but this story was too improbable for my tastes.
Another great story from a master that is Elise Noble. This story brings us Georgia and Xavier. Georgia is hiding from an assassin who is determined to complete the task and get his money. As they hide the couple get to know each other and fall in love. When she returns to her old life after the assassin is killed a series of shock twists bring about their final HEA
Another absorbing adventure. Nothing is as it seems. Behind closed doors masks come off - politicians, their wives, assassins - chameleons all of them. It reminds us that we all have different faces for different events, but what this tale inspires is that we should always stay true to ourselves - be happy within.
This author writes such great, heart felt stories, full of action on all fronts. I am absolutely loving this series so much.
After the romantic interlude in Gold Rush, Gray is my Heart got back to the action in a similar style to Forever Black, but with new characters and a completely different plot. I thought Emmy and Nick would always be my favourite characters, but Mitch a.k.a. Xavier might have eclipsed them. I loved this story from beginning to end, and I also developed a soft spot for Georgia, especially because I share her love of dogs.
The story kept moving at a good pace, and the plot was well thought out with a few great twists. I also liked seeing Emmy develop further from the previous books. This book is certainly on a par with the first four in the series, and maybe even a little better. Can't wait for book 6 - Blackwood is addictive!
well, I've always loved all of Elise's books since I started using wattpad. All of her stories are great and makes you want to read it all the time. Even though English isn't my mother language I still love her books. I'm sure you will think the same way as me if you've read her books, 'cause her books is interesting and have great storyline. I'm sure this story is as interesting and as great as all of her other stories, so you guys should really check it out ☺!
The same day I got this book I had to finish could not put it down. I laught cried and got angry with the characters. If your looking for a heart stopping, romance with just the right amount of suspense and action than Gray is my Heart is the book for you. Elise Nobel has done it again definitely a good read.
Yet another wonderful story around the Blackwood characters, the characters are so well done they are friends for life after reading all the books and you hate to finish it as you don't want to leave your friends !! A well done story can't wait till the next one !!
An amazing sequel!!! I absolutely loved the plot line and all of the new characters! I also really enjoyed the little puzzle pieces that Elise gives us in this book, it was really exciting to put together some of the back stories that have eluded us throughout the previous books.
As all books by Elise Noble, this book is a great romantic thriller that has to be read immediately. I enjoyed reading many of her books and look forward to more in the future. I am interested in how the security family grows and will continue to read about them.
