Indigo Rain by Elise Noble (Blackwood UK, #4)

Elise Noble is a great story teller, no matter what story she tells. This book tells the story of the rock star lifestyle of the members of a group called Indigo Rain and the balancing act that goes on between the art of writing the songs, performing on tour, wild behaviour, the gossip magazine headlines, the record company demands, the groupies, the hangers on and the various secrets all members on tour try to keep out of the public domain. While all that is going on, there are a number of suspicious deaths and a hot and heavy romance between Travis and Alana. Alana is the sister of Zander who got his Happy Ever After in a previous book. I liked that Emmy Black made an appearance or two during this story. Overall a great read. This is a stand alone book. 4 stars

What a riveting book! I loved this new installment to the Blackwood Security UK series. It has the intensity and intrigue I have grown to expect in Ms Noble's books. There are plenty of appearances from Emmy and characters from some of the other Blackwood books, but they are not necessary to read and follow this one.

Alana, Zander's sister from Shallow Graves, is trying to finish up her degree and find he place in the world. What better place to start than with an internship for the internationally renowned rock band Indigo Rain, who are know for their negative headlines. While entering into this world that is completely foreign to her she meets Travis, the lead singer. But women surrounding him also begin getting hurt. Together with the other band members, as well as help from Blackwood UK they search to find the culprit while they become more involved. But at the moment being involved with Travis is a dangerous place to be.

Loved it!

This book is a great addition to the Blackwood Security series and one of my favorites of all the Blackwood books. Alanna Graves, introduced in book three as Xander's younger sister, is home alone while Z and Dove are on their honeymoon. Alanna's best friend is a fan of the US rock band Indigo Rain, who are touring the UK, and she finagles an interview with them for a summer internship for Alanna, a journalism major. A!anna's instincts say no, but necessity wins out and Alanna goes to the interview and is hired on the spot. Her job will be to take pictures and write the truth about the band. She's read up on the four band members and their vices, so she's determined to keep her distance. But it doesn't take long for her to realize there are four very caring men under their crazy rock star facades. Unfortunately, they are also under a dark cloud of accidents, injuries, and even deaths for those around them.

A new instalment of the Blackwood UK series. And seeing that there may be four in total, in honour of each member of the band? Perfect. I. Love. It.

So this is how a rock star life could be. Being a fan of the current biggest boy band in the world, the glimpse and the pitfalls of the celebrity life in the book give me the shudders. It is scary and sad.

The emotions it invoked is why this book gets a five-star rating from me.

Well done, Elise. And keep it up!

Totally adored this book

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers although there is reference to paedophilia acts lightly written.
There are some sex scenes also lightly written and there is some swearing.
I admit to howling with laughter at the Instagram scene, I enjoyed that so much it kept me chuckling for hours.
Well written Ms Noble!
The characterisation is outstanding, with individual personalities and motivators that resonate with the reader.
The romance is sweet and there's no instalust so it's nice to see the romance take its time.
The plotline is so twisty and engaging it kept me turning the pages.
I read it in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down.
It can be read as a standalone although there are ties to Blackwood so it would be better to read the series to obtain better best reading experience.
Would I recommend the book?
Yes, most definitely.

Brilliant

Who is Elise Noble and where does she get her talent. I read a lot and only a few authors leave me speechless. Her writing and stories are so unique that every time she writes a book I buy it. This book was no exception. How the story unfolds and the crossover with Emmy and Black. The mystery and suspense keeps you hooked. Amazing author amazing book. I don’t give spoilers as in my opinion if the author has invested time in writing you should honour them and read it.

When I started "Indigo Rain" I was wondering how Elise Noble would tackle a subject that has been presented time and time again. I was positively surprised. The book opens with the standard setup: a successful band of bad boys, a shy journalist intern with an exuberant friend and, of course, the direct involvement of a representative from Blackwood. Starting from the first few chapters, however, the storyline is enriched with a cutting sequence of new, unexpected developments; the rhythm intensifies, and the reader is catapulted into a full-fledged, fast-paced, Blackwood adventure.
Emmy makes her grand entrance early in the plot. The personality traits of her character continue to evolve episode to episode, intriguing the readers and giving life to an unforgettable persona. Skilled and brilliant minded as usual, she jumps in, playing detective and exploiting her abilities, wealth and connections to help the young protagonists, albeit in her way.
Many members of the Blackwood family soon join her, to the delight of Ms. Noble's affectionate readers and the joy of the new ones.
The band members' personas also evolve as the story develops, becoming more vivid and defined. They gradually grow from spoiled rebels on their way to self-destruction to gifted and sensitive individuals, generous and kind-hearted in their own very peculiar way.
The focus of the story is on Travis, the lead singer, masterfully depicted as a gifted poet and artist.
Alana, the female protagonist, soon unveils a brilliant mind, a generous disposition, a good capability of self-irony and a great sense of humor.
The storyline covers a few quite serious matters, first by taking a disenchanted look at the hectic workload of the band, and the greedy personalities of the people surrounding them, later by revealing Alana's traumatic past. All the while, those themes are approached with respect, and without theatrics, but rather with an analytical, almost journalistic, point of view, aimed at informing the reader without influencing his/her opinion.
Last but not least, the story is narrated with Ms. Noble's signature writing style, rich, authentically British, and intertwined with delectable and irresistible literary gems.
Overall, Indigo Rain is a fresh, fast-paced, entertaining book. A pleasant surprise for its readers, it provides true, top-class entertainment. The charming members of the Blackwood family, together with the intriguing new characters, create an amazing cast, while Ms. Noble's vivid imagination is a guarantee for an original, unexpected and highly humoristic plot.

Buy it. Read it.

I feel like Indigo Rain was exceptional in how it intertwined the Blackwood world into it so seamlessly. On the surface, Alana was the little sister of one of the Blackwood guys and Travis, the male lead, is someone Blackwood has been hired to protect - all very straightforward. Elise gets to spend more time at the front of the book in the music world that the Blackwood world.

I am not generally one to read or thoroughly enjoy a “rock star” book. This book was an exception. But I suppose that’s the thing about Elise’s books, they aren’t cookie cutter. Elise didn’t paint the rock world as any one thing, but rather she showed the bright spots and the pitfalls - and she inserted to right dose of humor. She didn’t type cast any of the guys and leave them at that. All four band members seemed to have more going on and their own relatable struggles. Travis had depths that often aren’t painted into a romantic lead, let alone a “rocker.”

Just as you are starting to get a feel for Alana and the group, things start happen - red flags start popping up. Elise started cranking up the suspense.

I liked Alana in Shallow Graves, but I adore her in Indigo Rain. She is smart, funny, and still finding herself. She has a deep love and sense of obligation to her brother. I love that she is grounded and doesn’t seem to have stars in her eyes over these rockers. I love when she puts them in their place. I love that she became their glue. She was like gorilla glue - she nick in there between them, puffed up, grabbed on, and made them stronger.

Travis is endearing. His words and actions seduce Alana.

I loved the Emmy pop up moments. I really feel like her scenes in Indigo Rain were some of my favorite Emmy cameos.

I enjoyed how the POV switched between sister and brother, Alana and Zander - I adored him in Shallow Graves. I like how the suspense always takes center stage for parts of each of the Blackwood UK books. I like the evolution of the Graves family dinners.

So many more good things I could say about the book, but I don’t want to spoil it. Just buy it and read it. You will enjoy it.

This book was eagerly anticipated as I’m a huge fan of both the Uk and US Blackwood books. In the last UK book we met Zander and his sister Alana. This book is Alana’s and her journey from attending university studying journalism and getting work experience. She ends up thro no fault of her own following the band Indigo Rain on the European leg of their tour.
Once she joins the guys she realises image isn’t always fact. One by one she gets to know the people behind their personas and realises that all is not what it seems. Soon strange things start happening and people are getting hurt! Que the Blackwood guys becoming involved. We have a lot of our favourite characters showing up and as always Emmy and Black.
This is a thrilling and compelling tale of intrigue, suspense and burgeoning love. Throw in some Bradley, a famous indie rock group and you have the recipe for an amazing story. Of course with Bradley you still get the humour as always. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down, I stayed up half the night it was so good. Cannot wait for the next book!

An excellent addition to the Blackwood UK (and Blackwood) series. Indigo Rain ensures that the reader is constantly on the edge of their seat, wondering until the end, if they will find the truth. This book can be read on it's own, but will be so much better as part of the series.
The world of a rock star is not always all the fans believe it to be, with the extra pressure from the record labels, Indigo Rain gives us a glimpse into the real world of some stars. With a lot of action, and a bit of romance, Elise Noble exceeds expectation with another entertaining book. Obviously any fan of the series will be excited to find that Emmy and Black make an appearance too.
I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for the next Elise Noble book.

Another great read from Elise Noble! I thoroughly enjoyed Indigo Rain (#4 in the Blackwood UK series) from beginning to end. Fast paced, great characters and the writing takes you away to another world where you can picture exactly what is happening in the novel. (Wait until you read the description of Bradley stumbling in after a hard night and Emmy carries him fireman style around her neck!!) I love the way the characters are very individual, some with many facets of personality and I love how they interact with each other. Mystery, murder, humour, romance and a twist at the end - it has everything!

Books by this author are very addictive - you can't go wrong with a book by Elise Noble.

I very gratefully received an ARC for my honest review.

Indigo Rain is the latest Blackwood UK book and features some characters from previous books. It can however be read as a brilliant stand-alone too. Journalism student Alana, thanks to her best friend, reluctantly finds herself handling social media for one the members of indie band Indigo Rain. Travelling with the band was a real eye opener. Not everything is as it seems! This steamy mystery Romance has all elements you expect from Elise Noble .. a brilliant, original storyline, drama, mystery, humour and romance. It also has wonderful characters, both old and new, genuine and downright sleazy. Emmy as always is a delight and the sex alphabet is not to be missed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely highly recommend it.

Indigo Rain (the 4th Blackwood UK book) is a tale of growing up, romance and intrigue told with Elise Noble’s trademark irreverent humour. The cast make you cringe while you laugh and gradually unveil depths to their characters as the story develops, so you’re rooting for a happy ending for the good guys and a deserving come-uppance for the baddies. Emmy makes an appearance too, which is always fun in a Blackwood book. Make sure you have time when you start reading, because you’re unlikely to want to put it down! Although Indigo Rain is part of a series, you don’t need to have read the others, however, I highly recommend them all. Elise is a great storyteller and is one of the few authors whose books I read more than once.

Not a single book out of the Blackwood series is boring. In fact every story fascinates me. Alana is Blackwood employee Zander Graves younger sister who accidentally happens to write about Indigo Rain, a rock band that tours the UK. While she never heard a song of them before and is as far from a groupie as possible, she gets to know the four members better and starts to like the guys. When strange accidents start to happen, the story gets exciting and even Emmy comes into action to help solve this case. I can highly recommend this book, I totally enjoyed reading it.

Dang you Elise....

I waited since the day this book showed up on my Kindle so I could immediately segue into Diamond and Black's vacation novel...
REALLY, AT least 7 more hours.....!

As for the book, truly twisted, I absolutely adored! Rock star novel queen, go ahead and stand up and Dance, Elise, you did it, and did it awesomely!
But truly, waiting for tomorrow for Diamond and Black's book, and NOW Tess, who truly deserves her story, amazing kick ass secondary character, spDO YOU EVER SLEEP?!

LOVE THIS as every single Blackwood from the beginning! Love the inspiration note at the end to , about the Le Mans!

Four 'totally' hot rock guys and one sexy young journalism stident, what do you think they could possibly have in common??? Murder, mystery and mayhem and a whole lot of sexual tension. Oh did I tell you about all the secrets that are being kept?? So who is the killer and why are girls who hang around the Indigo Rain being knocked off?? Will Alana be next or will she find true love while Zander her brother search for clues to solve the murders of these lovely young women?? As always Elise keeps you hanging till the very last chapter. An Awesome read as always.

Indigo Rain
Elise Noble succeeded in capturing my attention with the first sentence:
“”AIEEEEE!” TESSA SHRIEKED.”
I trusted Elise to involve me in a new adventure filled by characters and a plot she developed using humor, intrigue and a bit of romance. Indigo Rain did not disappoint. Since Alana first appeared in Shallow Graves, I wanted the character connections to be fresh in my mind. So upon finishing Indigo Rain I reread Shallow Graves then I reread Indigo Rain. I enjoyed reading it again. Another great read by Elise Noble!

This story took the reader away from the normal Blackwood series. That said it all became clear as the story progressed. Based around the popular band Indigo Rain the reader is taken behind the scenes to reveal the truth about the four bad boy musicians. It is a fabulous read and I look forward to reading more tales about the band members exploits

I absolutely loved this book!!! And I love the way how Elise gives us a peek into the lives of people of different careers... but the progressing mystery of the story gave so much excitement that I couldn't keep the book down until the mystery was unraveled... and last but not the least, nothing's better than to see the magnificent Emerson Black in action...

Musical Bonanza
Elise Noble has Not all bad guys are really bad. They may create havoc wherever they go but Elise Nobel tells a different story. The heroine finds herself having to save the band from the real villains and solve a few murders on the way. Help is provided by some of the fabulous characters from Blackwood. Another Blackwood UK novel equals another great ride! This one delves into some interesting places, and shows us that the rich and famous are just like the rest of us inside. I love the way elise throws twists and turns in her books, such that while you know that the main character will end up happy, you're never quite sure how they'll get there. An added bonus is always the appearance of Emmy.
