Spirit, a book that puts one's spirit in the festive mood, as Bradley tries to organize Christmas activities that Emmy and the blackwood crew would rather be in the war front than partake. In the mist of this Emmy is able to put smiles on the little ones faces as well as put in some actions too. Spirit is a novella in the Blackwood series but be read as a standalone as well.

Elise is one of the best romance crime writers I know and like and I've read hundreds of books. The entire Black family and their group are the type of people I would actually like know, or do I. Once I start reading her books, I just can't put them down. The twists and turns and adventures are intriguing to say the least. Thank you for taking me away from my everyday life and mundane chores and putting me in places my mind would never go; places I visit frequently now.😘

This book certainly has Spirit! Have I mentioned that I love everything Elise has written? The latest installment, a novel, put me in the Christmas spirit. Not because all the people in the story have a Merry Christmas, because they certainly don’t. But once again, Emmy and her band of bandits use their talents and money for good rather than evil. Deserving souls have their deepest wishes fulfilled and those who makes others miserable end up with coal in their stockings, so to speak. And that certainly warms my heart! This is a fun little story with a lot of characters we know and love – and of course, there is more of Elise’s trademark humor. Favorite sentence in this book: “Black sent a two word reply that rhymed with duck knee.”
