With Spooked, the newest instalment of the Electi series, Ms. Noble surprises her readers with a lighthearted story that both meets and exceeds the expectations of her long time fans and entices the curiosity of new ones. The book has plenty of successful ingredients: it has captivating, three dimensional characters, a rich plot, the right amount of suspense and, last but not least, displays an accomplished and talented writing style.
The subtle irony that is typical of Ms. Noble’s style pervades the narration, making the book extremely enjoyable.
Spooked, like the previous instalment, Cursed, is not a typical “paranormal” book. Instead, the ghosts that populate the story are cameo characters that give life to a collection of hilarious and unpredictable situations.
Both protagonists, and the secondary characters, are well depicted and intriguing. Skilfully jotted at the beginning, their personality is gradually unraveled throughout the story, a fascinating discovery that makes the reader enjoy every single page.
Kimberly, the heroine, is introduced at the beginning of the book as a frilly wedding planner. As the plot develops, however, she demonstrates a quick mind and remarkable leadership skills. She is also kind hearted and selfless, taking risks and investing time and money trying to bring a serial killer to justice.
Reed is a peculiar knight in shining armour. An ex-military and ex-cop, his PI practice Is struggling to take off, despite him being smart and competent. Having paid all of his estranged sisters’ debts, he is broke and currently homeless. Despite his circumstances, he keeps up his spirit and doesn’t spends time feeling sorry for himself. Time and time again, he proves to be a fighter, always refusing to compromise his values and dignity. In addition to this, he is also generous, loving and protective towards the ones he cares for.
Rounding out the story, and adding depth to the narration, the book also contains a slate of vivid side characters, both human and not, that enrich and add extra layers to the tale.
In the end, Spooked is the perfect companion for a few hours of intellectually satisfying and relaxing entertainment. Just like many other of Ms. Noble's books, ever since I finished this last instalment, I simply can not wait to get my hands on the next one!

Spooked is the second book in the Electi series, and in this one the main character Kimberly is trying to live her life ignoring her ability to talk to ghosts, but soon she’s forced to use it in the quest for justice.
I loved the story and the suspense, keeping me up and turning pages all night.
The suspense/romance combination is fantastic and I love Elise’s humour and way of writing, making me laugh out loud as I read:

“But I smiled and did my swan impression—you know, all serene above the water but frantically paddling underneath”

A definite recommendation from me - this is another fantastic book from Elise Noble.
There are references to the first Electi book, Cursed, but it can be read as a stand-alone although I would recommend reading them in the right order to avoid spoilers.

If you are already familiar with Elise’s work, this is another “must read” - and if you’re not, hurry up and get started - many hours of incredibly entertaining reading awaits you!

I am liking the Electi series more and more after finishing this book. Elise writes paranormal in a way that makes it likeable for me to read. And the facts she includes in this book, like her other books, are fascinating. I cannot wait for all the Electis to meet up and rule the world! 😂👍🏼

Ghosts, Kidnappings, a Manhunt, and So Much More!

Kimberly is not an ordinary girl. She is currently a busy wedding planner with a phenomenal business. The not so normal part... she can see ghosts who can tell that she is “different” (she is one of four Electi), and the ghosts have been told that Kim has been sent to help them. The interesting part… she doesn’t really know how to help them so she tries to ignore them! Reed is an ex cop, now a PI, who is living out of his car after his sister disappeared and he paid off her debts so she could come home.

When a ghost helps to save Kim’s life, she feels she has not choice but to try to help the ghost. Kim hires Reed to help her help the ghost. Awkward much?!? Kim and Reed are an unlikely duo that is perfectly matched, but they need to get out of their own way to see if the spark between them can ignite into a full, fiery romance. Plus, Reed doesn’t believe in the paranormal!

This story is full of twists and turns and leaves you wanting to know so much more about Kim, Reed, all of their friends, and the ghosts! Another Elise Noble grand slam home run! This is definitely a “just one more chapter” kind of book that will keep you up way past your bedtime! It is impossible to put down!

HEA with NO Cliffhanger, but in a true Elise Noble form, she has other books that tie in to Spooked perfectly! This is Book 2 in the Electi Series. Some characters from Book 1 visit in Book 2!!! You can read this one first, though, and not miss anything. :) I can’t wait for Book 3!!!

I was hooked from the first chapter

In book two of the Electi series, Kimberly is saved from being abducted by a ghost in the back seat of the car urging her to escape so she won't end up as another ghost. She is found on a nature strip, presumed drunk as drug testing shows no trace of being drugged. The police are reluctant to help, so Kimberley hires Reed Cullen, private investigator, to try to find the kidnapper before anyone else is murdered. Kim has always kept her ability to talk to ghosts a secret until now. It is a great storyline, fast paced, great characters with depth and lots of action. I read this from cover to cover in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended reading. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Congratulations once again Elise Noble on writing such gripping books!

The characters were flawed but honest. They communicated well and any lies were for good reasons and not just filler to push the story along.

The whole backstory with the missing girls was well done. It had enough twists that kept things interesting and the clues made sense once you got to the end. Nothing I hate more is the big bad being too obvious or a trail of Easter eggs that lead nowhere. This was a perfect balance!

I did take off one star for the intimacy/spice since it had an excellent slow burn quality but the climax (pun intended) was at the most unbelievable and awkward time. Just hard to enjoy it when it kind of sprang out of nowhere and I was just thinking to myself that maybe this was a clean book cause no way would they be getting it on in the next chapter then 🫣

This is the second book out of the Electi series and the main character this time is Kimberley who can see and talk to ghosts. When a ghost helps her to escape a kidnapper and the police won't help to find him, she hires a private investigator. That's how she meets Reed who's sister ran away over 2 years ago. He starts working her case but isn't very optimistic on solving it as the car of the kidnapper has diplomatic plates. This story has everything a great books needs and you'll be surprised when you find out what route it takes in the ending. I'm already looking forward to the next book in 2019!

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is an unusual and very compelling story. Kimberly is a wedding planner and a member of the Electi. A highly elite group of peo0e who help trapped and lost souls here in earth to find justice for their deaths. When she’s nearly abducted she needs help in the form of private investigator Reed. As the story unfolds Reed is more than just the help. He’s involved although he doesn’t realise it at first. Their love grows as does the case and as it heats up the characters from the first book become involved and help. This book is a great read and I can’t wait for the next book.

I rarely read paranormal but I can honestly say Elise has me hooked! This is a mixture of paranormal, mystery and romance. A stand-alone book but the first book Cursed was brilliant too. I loved these new characters and wasn't expecting the ending. Another great book from Elise that I will read again and again. Looking forward to number three. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book - a pleasure and a privilege.

What to say ?

Elise Noble has yet to disappoint!
While I respect your need to get out more, allow me to say Elise, your bottom stuck to that chair has my bottom stuck to couches, chairs, the bed, something from beginning to end of any of your novels!
As you said in your afterward, the contrast of Kim and Rania was wonderful, as much as the commonalities of Will and Reed!
Wait with baited breath for the next Electi novel!

Loved it!

Spooked is the second book in the brilliant Electi Series but can be read as a stand-alone.
Kim is an Electi .. she sees ghosts of people who died at the hands of another. When she hires private eye Reed she has to reveal this secret and trust him. This is a wonderful, clever, well written book from a very talented author. There is a link to Rania and Will from book one as the mystery of the Electi is slowly being explored. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

I really really loved this book! I absolutely enjoyed getting to know all of the new characters, and the plot was amazing. I couldn't believe where the storyline went, which was both refreshing and exciting. I also really enjoyed how Elise hooked this book into her other books, which I thought flowed nicely. Can't wait for more!

Another great Electi story

Kimberley didn’t want to be an Electi but they don’t get the choice Seeing ghosts isn’t much fun especially murdered ones. But they can be helpful!
Reed and Kimberley set out to solve the disappearance of a number of girls and find his sister and then Kimberley disappears as well

Searching for a Killer

What do you do if no one believes you? This book is full of suspense and romance. I really like how the characters are not perfect but still manage to achieve things. Enjoyed this book so much. I went straight to my kindle store and bought the next one.
