So a Vampire in Vegas started out as a sort of choose your own storyline book. Remember we used to have those when we were kids. "If you want to follow mr parker turn to page 27. If you want to go to the cellar go to page 46" ect. Everytime a new option came out I was so excited. Even though I read along in the newsletter I was super excited to read the completed book. Let me tell you it did not disappoint!
This is book 1 of what I can already tell is going to be an amazing series! I love all the characters. However my absolute favorite is Blane! Is that weird to say??? There were so many twists and turns in this book. I found it down right impossible to put it down! I don't typically like supernatural books but Elise made it so of course....it was amazing!
Ok im going to stop chattering just read this book you will love it! 5+*s
I received an ARC from the author for my honest reveiw.
P.S. yes I know I am famous! My name was in this book. Please no autographs. (Chp. 30)
That is all

A Vampire In Vegas by Elise Noble. The Planes Book 1
This book started out as an interactive story on Elise Noble's newsletter/website. Her newsletter readers vote, after certain chapters, for which way they like the story to unfold. This story is the start of a new series with the main characters new to the audience. Along the way there are hints that this series may have links to the "Electi" series. This is a stand-alone book; there is no need to have read any of Elise Noble's books to follow along with the story-line. The story centers around nightclub hostess Genevieve Pelletier (Vee), who finds her friend, singer Serenity's body in the backroom of Club Dead and police detective Jack Callahan who is tasked to solve the murder/mystery of who and why someone wanted Serenity silenced. The story is told from both Vee and Jack's point of view. Along the way we are introduced to a variety of characters and situations that make for an entertaining story. I am a fan of Elise Noble's story-telling style and I enjoyed the meandering path the author took us on to solve the mystery of Serenity's death and to get to the first phase of the Happy Ever After for Vee and Jack. This book is a great read. 5 stars.

Vee started out as a newsletter story where we readers regularly could decide between 2 ootions on how the story goes on. I loved it but haven't had the time to read every newsletter in time so when Elise told us she'd publish Vee's story I was looking forward to reading it and I love it!

Vee works as waitress in Club Dead in Vegas when she stumbles across her dead friend, Serenity a singer who she planned on having dinner later with. Detective Callahan investigates the murder and doesn't know what to think of her but rules her out as suspect fast. Vee gets the creeps from her boss Blane who's on top of the suspect list and while the investigation drags on, Vee and Callahan start working together and even more.. the case takes many twists and turns but it's Blane who intrigued me the most so after this great read, I'm happy we're gonna learn more about Blane and his family next.

I received an advance copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.

I don't usually read vampire books, not that I don't enjoy the genre but I usually find they're all similar and a little tired.
A Vampire in Vegas was released a chapter at a time in the newsletter and on the Facebook page under the title "club dead". I didn't read it because I have read enough of Elise's books to know that I would get sucked in and need to binge the whole book in one sitting.
I was very pleased with the way the old vampire lore was given new life in this book. I love Elise's "human" version of the vampire and the idea that they were a divinely engineered prototype instead of some monster mutation (or however traditional vampires came into existence). I don't want to give away any spoilers because I don't want to steal the wonder and discovery from any new readers but I'm very much looking forward to re-reading A Vampire in Vegas and all of the future books in the Planes series.

“A Vampire in Vegas” does not fall into my preferred genre. But lately I’ve been wondering what are my preferences. I have read everything that Elise Noble has written and she is one of my favorite authors. She continues to stretch my appreciation into a variety fictional narratives. Her trademark humor makes an appearance as well as the emotional fear of loneliness.
Using the voices of the two main characters, Vee and Jack, a murder mystery is told and solved, a love story evolves, and the reader is introduced to the struggle of one vampire. Stranger underworlds are also revealed offering a connection to the Electi Series. As the story ends an unexpected sighting alerts the reader know there is more to come.
This is a good fictional story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

A Vampire in Vegas by Elise Noble

What a fantastic storyline, a murder mystery with a twist. I’m a huge vampire fan and loved every aspect of it. I loved that it had a bit of mystery, supernatural, love, friendship and vampires (can’t do without vampires) all rolled into one. I enjoyed meeting Jack and Vee and observing their characters development but I have to say that I’m totally fascinated with Blane, something about his character pulls you in. Definitely excited to read Book 2 of The Planes series to learn all about Blane.

I'm not really into the vampire genre but love Elise's Blackwood series so I gave it a go. So glad I did! Another great storyline that leaves you wanting more. The twists and turns keep you guessing and I found unexpected events that kept me wanting more. Really hoping there is more to follow in this series

It doesn't matter what genre Elise writes, she always produces an exciting plot, with lots of intrigues. Brilliant characters who make the reader believe in them and their world, even if it includes a vampire and other mysterious characters. With Elise writing, anything is possible. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

A Vampire in Vegas is the Book 1 of The Planes Series written by Elise Noble. Its a different genre from her other books like The Blackwood Security Series but its a very good book nonetheless. Every book she wrote really amazed me everytime i read them and this is one of those. A total page turner. I really recommend reading this book.

Great start to a series.
It keeps you guessing the whole way through.
Some interesting concepts on the supernatural and afterlife.
It was one of those books once started you don't want to stop reading.

Absolutely loved the book...such a different taste to what Elise usually writes...as the story progresses, the plot thickens, things get complicated and every page gets exciting...thank you for such an amazing book!

Even better than the interactive version!
Elise elegantly sidesteps the issue of “there are no new plots left” with her books in the supernatural realm. I am not normally a fan of this genre, but Elise’s characters are so endearing and witty! I like that there are certain connections to others of Elise’s series, but not enough to make anyone feel they have been left out if they haven’t read the other series.

Vee, the main character in this book, makes it seem perfectly logical that vampires exist and that so many of the things we have “known” about them up until now have been false. Now, that is convincing writing!

I am so impressed with Elise’s ability to weave her different series together and seemingly effortlessly connect the many wonderful characters. I can hardly wait for any and all future books in any of her series.

I found it difficult to get into

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
There is some swearing and a light sex scene.
The characterisation isn't as good as the Blackwood family for some reason. There are a lot of characters being introduced with all of their own motivators, and I really tried to keep an open mind, but I couldn't gain a connection with either lead character.
I thought the plotline was a bit overworked, but that's probably due to the inability to form a connection.
I gave four stars because even though it's not caught my imagination I can still see that the book is well written.
I believe I can see where the series will go forward, and no doubt there will be twisty plots, but I don't think I will be continuing the series.
If this is your genre I have no problem recommending the book.

A Vampire in Vegas is a thrilling paranormal book that will keep you reading right until the very end. It does however start very slowly and I did consider giving up on it. I am so very glad I stayed with it because it suddenly and dramatically grabbed my attention and it was simply brilliant.

Elise Noble is a truly wonderful author who blends action, drama, intrigue and suspense seamlessly with humour, romance and the quirky. Although this is not her usual genre it turns out she is also a master at the supernatural too. Vee is a complex yet somewhat charming character with a secret but it turns out that she is not the only one.

I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the next book in this exciting new series.

I am all about Vampires and all things dark. This story did not let the side down. The story is based on two murders with evidence of Vampire markings. It twists and turns in so many directions pulling the reader deeper into the tale. Elise Noble is an incredibly clever author with amazing talent for words. If you want a fascinating and mind grabbing read then this is it. My hat is off to you Ms Noble

Vee is a serving drinks in a elite club when she discovers her friend's murdered body. She meets Jack as he begins his investigation. The story is told from both points of view.

Jack is trying his best to start over after his wife's death. Vee finds a new life while hiding her secrets and helping Jack find the murderer. Interesting characters fill out the story and leave you wanting more.

The paranormal elements are unique and intriguing. This is a great read for any genre.

intriguing mystery murder, with romance and humour..brilliant

I have read many of this authors books. I loved some more than others, but this one is different in a good way. I hoped it would not follow the other styles as sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. the authors style is believable and the characters are beautifully fleshed out. The plot is interwoven between the the characters and various motives. making this a brilliant read. thank you

A vampire working in Club Dead what can go wrong

We meet Vee a 200+ year old vampire with pink hair who enjoys her work in a nightclub (mostly) She doesn’t have many friends, for obvious reasons, but when one of them is killed she intends to find out who did it. Jack Callahan is the detective in charge and together they start to unravel the leads and the secrets that unfold as they investigate. Loving this start to what I hope is a new series with Jack and Vee.

Brilliant new novel - first in a new series, in a slightly different genre for Elise Noble (supernatural). Gripping from start to finish. Great characters and I loved the developing relationship between the two main characters, Vee Pelletier (vampire) and Jack Callahan (detective).
Highly recommended reading.

I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Don’t know how she does it

Elise writes book after book. Story after story. How does she get these book themes. Intertwine them together?? And make it all work so incredibly well. In my book she’s up there with John Grissom and Tom Clancy. Just an amazing story teller. THANK YOU.

Cocktail waitress vampire

A mystery with a paranormal twist. This was an interesting read. It’s amazing what a vampire will do to seem normal. I have to say that Muse was among my favorites as far as characters in the book. The best part is the mostly happy ending even if I am now stuck in limbo waiting to see what happens with the husband.

I love how Elise writes and all of her characters she creates, even when they are make-believe they are believable, and somehow become your new book friends that you hate to see leave when you finish the book!!

I read many of Ms. Noble's books, and all of them are just fun! A Vampire in Vegas is no exception. A paranormal theme's choice is just the excuse to introduce a slate of brand new characters with kaleidoscopic personalities. Their traits finely chiseled, transpiring their peculiarities. The storyline flows pleasantly thanks to the lighthearted tone of the narration. With its fast-paced rhythm, the book is a page-turner, with plenty of plot twists and several cameo situations that will make the reader laugh-out-loud. Vee and Jack are intelligent, generous, passionate individuals. Their story is captivating, and the readers cannot avoid feeling sympathetic towards them. An explosive and unexpected ending bears the promise of new adventures that I'm sure most readers are looking forward to reading soon!

This started out as an interactive newsletter story. But it quickly became so much more. Vee and Jake meet under unusual circumstances but that doesn’t stop them from forming a bond. Vee being a vampire is obviously not common.knowledge so it quickly becomes an intriguing and compelling story. Jake as a detective is investigating the murder and quickly realises all is not as it seems. This is a wonderful PNR with a crossover into one of Ms Noble’s other series albeit minutely. I’m absolutely fascinated with this wonderful world this author has created. Her stories are always unique and never take the easy route so you never know which way things will go. I cannot wait for more books in this series now. Fabulous book.

Great story!
A Vampire story? Well not the typical one, that’s for sure.
With Elise’s usual sense of humour and great characters the story sucks you in.

The characters are relatable, and I love the way Elise throws in references to other books even if they are not in the same series (The Electi) - but still connected.

Great story, great characters, plenty of suspense, supernatural elements and a difficult love story all in one great package.

Even though I read the original newsletter story and was a part of the voting process deciding the outcome, reading the story again as a complete book was a true joy - couldn’t put it down..

Loved it!

I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I received this book from the author as an ARC and finished it very quickly! I tend to read a book quickly then re-read more slowly to get all the good stuff I might have missed. I wrote a review in iBooks and somehow it has been swallowed up by the World Wide Web, which really ticks me off!
This book was first released as an online series and although I read a few chapters, I didn’t finish it and now I’m so happy I didn’t! There were things I’d definitely missed and turns I never saw coming! Vee and Jack are now a favourite couple and Blane has grown on me!!

Paranormal activity, supernatural beings, romance and humour all make this book one I will reread again and again.
