New year, new books…

Posted January 5, 2017 by Elise in Writing / 3 Comments

So, it’s evening on day 5 of 2017, and I’m already stuck into writing a new book. Well, I started writing it over Christmas but between one thing and another (okay, mainly Trev the horse going lame and then going lamer, but that’s another story), I haven’t finished it yet.

Cursed will be my first venture into paranormal romance, and if it goes well, I’ll write a few more like it.

Here’s the blurb – I’m always pretty terrible at writing these:

Rania Algafari never asked to be different, and when she escaped the war in Syria and moved to the UK, her only goal was to live a peaceful life. Get up, go to work, avoid talking to the dead, that sort of thing.

But not everyone dies quietly, and Rania’s soon being pestered by one ghost, blackmailed by another, and distracted by a handsome private investigator who’s got his own reasons for wanting to solve a particularly gruesome murder.

While Will Lawson doesn’t mind using unorthodox methods to crack a case, he’s never had to contact his witnesses via a seance before. But the clock is ticking, and Will and his unlikely sidekicks need to hunt down a killer before he’s dispatched to join the spirit world himself.

And because I can’t resist the lure of Photoshop when I’m supposed to be busy doing something else, I’ve also made a cover (which probably won’t be the final cover but it gives me something to work to).

I’d love to hear what you think! Feedback from readers is how I know what to write next (I have a huge long list of plotted books and not enough time to write them all!)

And while I’m writing, my editors are editing. I hope to publish at least six new books this year. I’ve started okay, with 24 Hours of Trouble going live on 9th January, and after that will follow Out of the Blue, Lithium, and a standalone romantic comedy called Life. I’ll keep you updated!

Meanwhile, the company that sends my envelopes and boxes to post books in also sent me chocolate for Christmas, and it’s sending me subliminal messages to eat it. I think it’ll go well with wine…

Cursed, sounds intriguing. Anxiously waiting for 24 Hours and More Blackwood. I’m sooo hooked!
    What happened to Trev?
